5 Ways to De-Stress after a Long Day


We all have long days, whether it is spending hours working on school work like myself, or you may have a job full time. We all want to find a way to relax and rewind after a long day especially during these times of a pandemic where it’s hard to find things to do outside of the house. Here are some ways you can rewind and relax!


1. Have a spa treatment for yourself!

I personally always love doing my own spa day at home! Even doing the simple things can really lighten up your mood. You could put a face mask on, paint your nails or whatever you think of as a spa day for yourself. Treat yourself!



2. Bake away!

Baking always has a way to help de-stress after a long day. Try a new recipe or pull out an old favorite recipe from your grandma or mom. Whether that’s cookies, bread, or even my favorite, macaroons, find something that is fun! Simply making a baked good helps treat yourself and you will also have fun while doing it!




3. Find a good book and a perfect spot

Being able to engulf yourself in a good book can help you de-stress in many ways. Find a good book and a comfy spot and read away to clear away the stress from the day. Pick anything from a mystery, romance, or even a fantasy for a perfect read. Reading helps you focus on something else and can help to be able to clear your mind.



4. Watch a fun show or movie

I always find watching a good show or movie will help me relax after a long day of studying! Find a good movie or show on Netflix or Hulu or even watch one of your favorite movies for a good laugh, you deserve it!



5. Find a new hobby

During these times, finding a new hobby can be fun and exciting to take your mind off the stresses of the day! If you have been always wanting to paint, play guitar, or even trying to learn to draw, go for it! There is something for everyone that gives them excitement and happiness of learning something new. Find something that sparks your interest!



Everyone has their way of de-stressing after a long day, find something for you that is valuable and fun for you. You deserve it for all your hard work!
